“…but the church was earnestly praying” Acts 12:5b
Peter had people praying for him; Paul had people praying for him; the church was praying for one another. Along this journey there is no greater need than for others to pray for us. We are praying, and we need others to pray.
God is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine. And He asks us to partner with Him by interceding for one another. We have been blessed to establish our first two prayer partners. They have committed to 6-12 months of consistent prayer. But we are praying and asking God for a total of 70 prayer partners.
Moses had 70 elders helping him. And Jesus sent out 70 into the “harvest fields”. We would love to have you join us!
I am an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene. The last six years I have been on staff as the Pastor of Outreach. Over the last year God has been calling me to step out on faith as a pastor/shepherd/lead pastor. But I have been uncertain about what God had in mind.
The call to plant a church began in 2004. I was at a pastor retreat. George Hunter III was preaching and God placed it on my heart to begin a church in the Livonia Mi area. The timing was not as important as the place. And so I tucked it away until God would show me what to do. The call returned to me this year while Dr. Porter was preaching at an assembly I was attending.
My husband and I and our two children are now following this call. And this is about that journey.
We are currently assembling our core group with prayer and plans to launch community worship by November 28, 2010 (the first Sunday of Advent). Maybe we will see you there!
